Julia Reimer Scholarship Fund

The Julia Reimer Scholarship Fund was established by the family of former St. Francis Home resident, Julia Reimer, to provide assistance to employees of St. Francis Home who wish to pursue additional training or higher education with the nursing field.  The scholarship is awarded annually, however this year 2 recipients were chosen to receive $1,250 each to further their nursing education.  The finalists included Danielle Sours who joined the St. Francis nursing team in 2004 as a nursing aide has already completed her LPN degree and is currently pursuing her RN degree at Terra State Community College anticipating to graduate this year.  She currently works part time in the Chiara Unit.  Betty Smith, a LPN working part time on 3 East was also a recipient receiving $1,250  and has also worked at St. Francis since 2004.  Betty is also pursuing a RN degree from Terra Community College and anticipates graduating in 2016.  This is the second year that Betty was chosen for the scholarship award.  Presenting the scholarship awards was Mike, Dan and Fred Reimer on behalf of their family.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The St. Francis Senior Ministries team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s….Our team raised a total of $2971.20!  The walk total was almost $40,000!  Thank you to everyone for your support!alz walk sf team 2014

Educational Seminars

St. Francis Senior Ministries hosts several educational seminars throughout the year.  They are presented on various topics, by various presenters and held at different facilities throughout campus.  Previous topics have included:  Medicare, AARP, wellness, travel tips, diabetic education and financial planning.
